One for the Ages

The Roman Shades

These treatments were custom-made with a Peter Fasano fabric by MRV Exclusives of Gloucester. The designer, Honey Collins of Honey Wilcox Collins Interiors in Essex, wanted a more “flowy” design to contrast the linear look of the wallpaper (by Phillip Jeffries ). “I could have used the Travers design fabric on the pillows, but I think that would have made the room look more formal.”

The Pillows

The owners of this antique Shingle Style home in Manchester-by-the-Sea liked the idea of a neutral room with pops of color, Collins said. The starting point for the design? The salmon pillows in the Travers fabrics. The material for the yellow and taupe pillows is by Raoul Textiles , the paisley by Peter Fasano .

The Lamp

The light was purchased at Lee Jofa and designed by Bunny Williams . The owners wanted a more modern look but to incorporate their antiques and make a space where their children would feel comfortable, Collins said.

The Coffee Tables

The black piece, from the owners’ existing furniture, is made of wood and has a caned top and gilt details. The painted taupe table was custom designed for the space by Shaun Bullens. “The coffee tables are a perfect example of the mix of traditional and modern — that mix adds personality to the room,” Collins said. “If the tables were matched, it would be quiteboring and a bitpredictable.”
